New Giveaway Rules for Delightful Chaos!
First let me say that I give credit for this information and idea to Lori over at A Cowboys Wife. I changed some but copied some because I swear she worded it so great I wouldn’t even know where to begin rewording! (Okay, I may have changed some typo’s 
) I agree with her completely and these are now the new rules for my giveaways!
I don’t like putting “giveaway” in the title of my posts so I won’t be doing it anymore. To be honest, it kinda hurts to get so many comments giveaway posts and NOT on a regular post. So I feel like this, if you are taking the time to read my post, then you will have a better chance of reaping the rewards because any and all future giveaways will ONLY be mentioned at the bottom of the post. This is to show some love to my loyal readers. So if you don’t read, you won’t ever know about them.
Entering the giveaways.
Most of my giveaways require one entry and I give tons of bonus entries. Each additional entry is always optional and EACH ONE MUST BE LEFT IN A SEPARATE comment to count. If you don’t follow the giveaway rules I will just delete your comment.
Drawing of winners.
I have several ways that I draw winners depending on my mood that night. Sometimes I ask my Twitter followers to give me a number between 1 and however many comments are on the giveaway. I take the first one who responds. I never tell them any information so there is way of them knowing what the number is for. I also use the Random Number Generator or ask my 7 year old for a number.
Announcement of winners.
I don’t like to devote posts to winners nor do I like to mention it in my posts. It has to do with keeping my blog all niche related…just don’t want that extra clutter;) SO, from now on, if you are a winner, I will email you, contact you via your blog or twitter to let you know that you have won a prize. You will be given 48 hours from the email/tweet to contact me and claim your prize. If you do not contact me within those 48 hours, then you forfeit winnings and a new prize winner will be chosen. I have chosen plenty of second winners in the past! This is for 2 reasons. One–I can’t keep up with a million giveaways, winners, etc for weeks on end. Two–the prize sponsors don’t like waiting, flat and simple. So, add tonilynn at delightfulchaos dot com to your address book because this is where the email will come from! If it goes to your spam box that is not my problem. SORRY!
Giveaway sponsors are responsible for shipping prizes that are offered on Delightful Chaos. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery of any prizes won. If you do not receive your item AFTER that time, please email me and I will follow up with them.

I don’t blame you. I have to admit, I am guilty of only entering the conests and not going through the blogs to read other posts. I am sorry. I am new to sweeping, and to blogging. I started in September and found the blog contests and to be honest, if it wasn’t for the blog contest wins I have gotten, I would not be able to give any presents to anyone this Christmas. So, in my scramble to win gifts, I have neglected an essential part of these contests, teh bloggers who put time and effort into making this happen. I do appreciate all that you do to help others with your efforts in blogging. Much appreciated, and after all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, I plan to settle in and give credit where credit is due! Kudos for all you do!

I agree that it gets very frustrating when you get more comments on the giveaways than the regular posts. We always try to offer extra points for voters who subscribe by email etc…
I recommend using random.org to draw a winner, it is completely random and impartial and you can also save the results to prove to people who question the giveaway results.

I noticed that on several blogs, but I try to comment on non-giveaway posts when I have something to add. Actually, I feel guilty entering contests and then never commenting anywhere else. I did a post about some giveaways on other blogs and added a clip from Wayne’s World where Wayne & Garth were saying ‘We’re not worthy” to emphasize this point.

I do understand that times are tough for many people and this is a source of presents for their children this holiday but it is the same during the regular year as well.

I agree with SO much of what you said! I don’t think that people realize just how much time we put into our posts only to find that people really just care about the giveaway – I have had some that I can tell they don’t even bother to read the post or the rules and they just enter blindly. I have been dedicating special posts just to annouce the winners and after reading this I think that I am going to change a few things myself. I would so much rather have people read my blog because they are loyal readers that care what I have to say rather than just people looking to enter a giveaway. Thats one reason that I have decided to cut down just a smidge on the giveaways that I offer and focus more on the peeps this year. I definitely think not all sweepers are like this. I have found some to be quite loyal and comment frequently or email and tweet with me too, for those I am thankful

For myself, this Christmas is tough, where normally it would not be this bad. I am now supporting my Son, Garndson and myself and my rescue work on my Social Security income. They moved inw th me due to unforseen circumstances, so times are especially rough. So, my small wins have taken the burden off of no money for Christmas this year. The wins I have gotten go to presents for the kids, they are the most important at Christmas. I am sorry if my earlier comment offended you, they weren’t meant to. I am a very generous and giving person, always have been. I in no way meant to upset bloggers who have offered up these great reviews and giveaways. My apolgies.
