My home has many different floor surfaces including carpet, stone, vinyl and hardwood. I really needed to find a vacuum that would work on all of these surfaces. I also have a 2 story home so my choices are to either own 2 vacuums or lug my heavy one upstairs. I also have a Golden Retriever and 3 boys, ages 2, 7 an 39 :D . As you can imagine, by now I am a pro at vacuuming. I have purchased in the past a few several smaller vacuums for quick clean up jobs and I was never 100% pleased with them. When I was contacted by Hoover to review this product I was excited.

BIGGEST CON: This would without a doubt be the battery. If you use it non stop it only lasts about 15-20 minutes. This is a little sad for something that costs so much. I noticed Hoover recommended buying an extra battery. I don’t think this is a reasonable request after someone spends over $100 on the vacuum. The battery for this baby is about $70! Amazon has the List Price of the vacuum at $199 on sale for $169. I think that asking a consumer to pay half the price of the vacuum for another battery it ridiculous.

The dirt cup took me a minute to figure out how to open it. When you press the button it doesn’t just open the bottom up. You have to open the cover with the other hand. After using it a few times, it does now open without having to touch it.

It is just for small jobs. I thought I would use it to do a quick run over my stairs (carpeted) and I only was able to do 4 steps and the cup was full. I have a dog and newer carpeting so hair and fibers really filled it up. Other than the battery and the cup, I really love this vacuum.

    Another Hoover Product I would love to have in my home is the Hoover Impulse Cordless Mop. I know that sounds odd in a vacuum cleaner giveaway, but I have mostly hardwood or laminate flooring with small area rugs. I also have a dirt driveway, a large yard and 4 kids, 5 if you count my husband! I feel I am constantly sweeping and vacuuming the floors and by the time I’m done I’m just too pooped to dig out the mop & bucket to wash the muddy and other spots on the floor that seem to be almost everywhere! I need something more durable the a stick mop w/ a disposable pad, and less messy than the good old fashioned mop & bucket!

    Good luck with the giveway! I never knew Hoover had the Impulse mop so either way I’m taking a second look at it!

    main entry: I would also love to have the The Platinum Carpet Cleaner to get out the deep down allergins from the carpets because we both suffer from allergies and ashma in our home so this would reduce those nasty germs to help live a healthier life. And this is a great giveaway you offer I too could use the Cordless Stick Vac because my vacumer cleaner is an old off brand actually help together on the hose by duct tape so it only does 1/4 the job of what Hoover brands would do and barely does that. Plus I love the fact it can be used on hard surface floors. So thanks for the chance to win!

    Ooooh – I’m all excited about the Cyclonic Bagless Upright. I need something with serious power & HEPA filter (our cat sheds badly) – but am really wanting a bagless vacuum, too.     Besides this Hoover Cordless Stick Vac, we could really use the Cyclonic Bagless Upright vac. The vac that we have now is a hand me down that is some 20 years old. It doesn’t work that well any more and the beast weighs so much. I also love the idea of bagless vacs.
    This Hoover Stick Vac I really love because of it being cordless and being able to so easily go from floor to carpet. With kids, this would be wonderful for those quick clean ups everyday.

We have a cat that thinks its great to roll around in the dirt and then come inside and lie on my carpet.     The Cyclonic Bagless Canister looks fabulous! I recently went back to work full time and cannot keep up with my housework. I spent all day yesterday cleaning my house, and I think all I did was clean up after my dog! I’ve never seen so much dog hair in my life. Vacuuming has really become a chore and I don’t have the proper tools. I know having a functional vacuum would make a huge difference in my household.

    I would love the Linx Cordless Hand Vacuum with the 2X longer runtime. It says that it has a three hour charge time! I like the fact that it has a batterey fuel gauge that will show me the remaining battery life.

    I could use the Hoover Platinum Carpet Cleaner. We put new carpet in our basement…then had a small leak during a rainstorm that left the carpet a bit stained. A powerful carpet cleaner would probably do the trick of getting it clean again.

    I would love the Platinum Collection Carpet Cleaner. I really hate spots on the carpet but with 3 dogs, 2 teenagers and a construction worker that seem to track in every bit of mud and dirt… I really have a time keeping up on it. I have killed at least 2 carpet cleaners in the last few years and am currently borrowing one right now that just doesn’t do a very good job.

    If I could pick any vaccuum, I’d get the Cyclonic Bagless Canister vacuum because I prefer the canister ones – for some reason I find it easier to pull the whole thing behind me rather than push it in front with one hand. :)

    I’d like the lightweight bagged upright because my current vacuum is so heavy that I don’t use it. I wind up using my dustbuster throughout the entire house! Plus, the lightweight bagged upright prevents dirt scatter.

    actually the stick vac is exactly what i need, we recently removed the wall to wall in the upstairs rooms exposing the great wood floors, sweeping and a dustmop just doesn’t cut it and hate how noise the regular full sized vac is not to mention possible damage to the floor, even when adjusting the height up all the way
