Disclosure: This is a post written by me and any opinions expressed are my own. I may or may not have received compensation for my services.

Summer break with 4 boys is nothing less than insanity. From the 15-year-old to the 9-year-old, it’s like Mom has to entertain them as if they were 3. I shouldn’t complain too much though. They definitely keep my butt moving and that is something I really need. Well, at least most days. I do have those ‘Mom Wants To Stay In Bed’ days. Not that I ever get them but, I digress.

If I had to pick the thing that makes me angry during summer break, I would have to be the fact that my kids seem to thing our backyard is a laundry basket. I am unsure why these 4 children can’t hang things up. They are in the pool 7 days a week which equals towels, swimsuits and clothes everywhere. Are they practicing for when they become husbands and think their wives are the maids? Maybe it’s just life with two teenagers and two nine-year olds that follow suit. I nix it as often as I can but, it’s an ongoing battle.

We took the kids to see The Angry Birds movie on Sunday. I am not to adult to admit that I love kids movies. I didn’t realize how much I could relate to a bird. Red is my hero. Now I am not saying that I am an angry person all the time but, I do tend to say what I am thinking at all times. I laughed so hard at some of the things Red did. There is no doubt that things seem much more funny when you can relate to the character.

If you haven’t been able to see this movie yet, I do recommend taking the wee ones to see it. We hit McDonald’s, as a treat, before we went, because I refuse to pay $4 for a box of candy. I have to say that I am very happy with the new options that were not available when I was a kid. The boys get apples instead of fries and white milk instead of soda. On this day, I let them go outside the box. While I still don’t allow them to drink soda, they were allowed to get an orange drink and fries.

As if going to McDonald’s and the movies isn’t fun enough, for an Angry Birds fan, the game apps that are availiable now are pretty stinking fun too! Patrick plays the Angry Birds POP Bubble Shooter and there is now a new one. It’s called Angry Birds ACTION! and I played it for hours last night. Shhhhh! The kids thought I was sleeping. You can play these on your computer or on your phone.

The game follows the movie theme. Just like Red and his friends, you have to save the baby eggs around the island. It is quite fun and very addicting!

Did I mention that I also have a fun giveaway for you today? For those who live in NW Ohio and SE Michigan, you can enter to win a family a pack of four Happy Meal coupons, courtesy of McDonalds! I would also like to tsay thank you for the gift card and movie passes we were given to enjoy our family fun night. I hope yours can be as wonderful as ours was!
