I have always loved astronomy. Following start charts and searching out consilations proved to be a difficult task for me. While I can find the popular things, really trying to study it became too much of a headache. When our loved ones move on, we always look to the sky to speak to them. While I am not a religious person by any means, I do believe that we all go somewhere. My Dad left this world in 2008. It was a tremendous loss for us and a “win” for Cancer. He is officially a star. Interesting isn’t it? Curious? I sure was.
The International Star Registry has introduced their New Photographic Sky Chart. Customers can add this to their star package when they name a star. Since 1979 International Star Registry has been naming stars for people all over the world. The star names and their coordinates are permanently recorded in the book, YOUR PLACE IN THE COSMOS, to be registered at the Copyright Office of the United States of America. To date, 9 volumes of this book have been published containing over 2 million star names. The Photographic Sky Chart is a collaborative effort between a team of German photographers and International Star Registry. The location of the named star is digitally indicated and circled. We are asking bloggers to enjoy and share the experience of naming a star and receiving this package. read the rest of this entry »
Holiday shopping is almost always a headache. Every year I say that I am going to start early and every year, I don’t. I think this is because the boys always change there mind about what they want. Last year, 3 days before christmas, Spencer decided he wanted something. While nodding at him, I am thinking to myself, “Really kid? I already bought it all, wrapped it all, and hid it all in places that I hope I can remember.” One year I am just going to wrap some Duracell Batteries and throw them in a box. Here ya go kiddo! Merry Christmas!
My Mom is notorious for buying the toys that do not shut off. I think this is secretly payback for all of the times I misbehaved as a child. You know the toys I mean. The ones that start going off at 3 am because the dog bumped them. The ones that are loud enough to be used as a tornado siren to warm the villagers. These toys are why Mom’s find a glass of wine at the end of the night. Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. Information ahs been provided by SheSpeaks and all stories and opinions are my own, as always.
How many times have you gone to a toy store, breathed a sign of relief when you finally got back in the car, only to co home and realize….. you forgot batteries. They can use the new toys without them right? It encourages the use of imagination. Right, that’s it!… No?
While I want their toy batteries to last as brief as possible, I do look for the longest lasting batteries I can find for other things. After all, I don’t like to get off my butt to change the channel on the TV. Do you? What do you mean that’s why we had kids? I thought that was to see how long we can keep all of our hair. If you have forgotten your batteries, have no fear! You can hop on over to Walmart and pick up some Duracell batteries! Yes, I am trying to help you not leave your couch for any reason tonight. Always happy to help a fellow Mom out. read the rest of this entry »
There are so many things that can make daily life a hassle, at least for me. Glasses are one of them. When I was 16, I started wearing contact lenses. I am now 36 and couldn’t live without them. When I do have to wear my glasses, for whatever reason, it’s a thorn in my side. The only convenience is that I can put them on and take them off at any time. I don’t have to think about rubbing my eyes etc. Acuvue Oasys has been a life saver for me.
Royal, my 12 year old, has been wearing glasses for a few years. He has already broken 3 pair. He’s a boy who does boy things so, it’s was inevitable that it would happen. He has always watched me put mine in. The most common thing I hear from him, and many others is, “I could never stick my finger in my eye.” I always laugh at this because you are not actually touching your eye. He has recently started wearing contact lenses and he loves them. He still wears his glasses off and on but, he laughs about how easy they are to put in now.
