When I was about 10 years old, we had one of those vacuum selling people come to the door.. You know that brand I am talking about… The guy had a display piece that attached to the side of the vacuum with these pads so you could see what they were sucking up. I have been with Royal almost 9 years now and every year, his grandfather sends us a wonderful delivery from Hickory Farms for Christmas. It is that little treat that we enjoy getting every year. In the past few years I have started to send it back to him as well as to my parents. With my Dad being gone now, it is a little thing my mom now has to look forward to that she doesn’t have to share

Mom Central was kind enough to send me a box of Hickory Farms Summer Sausage and Cheese to review. There are so many different kinds of meats and cheeses that I would love to be able to try them all! The box that we received had (2) 12 oz Beef Summer Sausages, (1) 7oz Pennsylvania Dutch Edam, (1) 6.5 oz Apple Pie Cheddar and (1) 7oz Sharp Wisconsin Cheddar.

I wasn’t sure I would be able to try something called Apple Pie Cheddar. The thought alone made me gag. My immediate reaction was that it would taste like Apple Pie with cheese on top! Not a very good thought. I was pleasantly surprised that it did not taste like Apple Pie at all lol It is a very mild and creamy cheese. Most Cheddar’s that I have had are tough when you cut them. The knife slide right through this one. I would recommend this cheese just as a cheese to try in general. As expected, the sausages and other cheese were just as good!

I have never tried something from Hickory Farms yet that I didn’t like. They have a great selection of things from meat to cheese to fruit! There is also a price range for everyone also from $4.49 to $125! If I could choose anything from their site it would be the Grand Gift Snack Tower!

There is always that person on your list that you have no idea what to buy for them. I do personally recommend something from Hickory. It’s a quality product that has been around for a over 50 years. They know their meat and cheese!

Royal can tell you that I am absolutely ridiculous about drinking tap water. He was so tired of me buying bottled water that we moved to a 5 gallon water cooler. This worked out really great until we moved into our new house. We can not find a place to put it that is convenient. The second problem with these is that Spencer (2) is ALWAYS playing with it.

I received the Cuisinart CleanWater Countertop Filtration System and was so happy to get it up and running. When I returned home from California, Royal had it all setup on the counter for me. It so simple to use that even my 7 year old uses it. I love the hot water feature. This was something that I did not have on my old water cooler. I like it because I can make instant hot chocolate for the family.

A few months back we had a company come out and test our water for a full home filtration system. I have to tell you that I about threw up when I saw what I was giving to the kids. It made me even more sick to think that I was putting that in Spencers bottles at the time. Unfortunately the home system was a little more than I wanted to spend then but it opened my eyes to a whole new world. This would be a great unit for baby bottles alone! half hot and half cold would make a great bottle!

My home has many different floor surfaces including carpet, stone, vinyl and hardwood. I really needed to find a vacuum that would work on all of these surfaces. I also have a 2 story home so my choices are to either own 2 vacuums or lug my heavy one upstairs. I also have a Golden Retriever and 3 boys, ages 2, 7 an 39 . As you can imagine, by now I am a pro at vacuuming. I have purchased in the past a few several smaller vacuums for quick clean up jobs and I was never 100% pleased with them. When I was contacted by Hoover to review this product I was excited.

BIGGEST CON: This would without a doubt be the battery. If you use it non stop it only lasts about 15-20 minutes. This is a little sad for something that costs so much. I noticed Hoover recommended buying an extra battery. I don’t think this is a reasonable request after someone spends over $100 on the vacuum. The battery for this baby is about $70! Amazon has the List Price of the vacuum at $199 on sale for $169. I think that asking a consumer to pay half the price of the vacuum for another battery it ridiculous.

The dirt cup took me a minute to figure out how to open it. When you press the button it doesn’t just open the bottom up. You have to open the cover with the other hand. After using it a few times, it does now open without having to touch it.

It is just for small jobs. I thought I would use it to do a quick run over my stairs (carpeted) and I only was able to do 4 steps and the cup was full. I have a dog and newer carpeting so hair and fibers really filled it up. Other than the battery and the cup, I really love this vacuum.
