Nickelodeon released SpongeBob SquarePants: Season 6, Volume 1 on DVD December 8th.  The DVD includes a 2-Disc set that features 24 Spongy Stories from the sixth season, along with the exclusive SpongeBob history song, and more!

In our house, everyone is a fan of SpongeBob. I didn’t know the show even existed until about 2004 but it first came to TV in May of 1999. My mom started buying the Season Sets for us years ago and i am happy to see the new one release! The only thing I really hate is that this is only half the season. MANY years ago I fell in love with those “locking” containers. You know the brand…. They sell them on the TV shopping channels all the time. I was completely obsessed with these containers when they came out and I probably had well over 50 of them. Every shape and size they sold! FANTASTIC INVENTION! Right? WRONG! After using them for a short period of time, I realized that I wasn’t as in love with them as I first thought! I spent a lot of money on them and a few years later, I don’t own one piece anymore.

Problems with the “OTHER” Brand

Issue #1: It wasn’t as easy to line up the lids as you see on TV.
Issue #2: Despite their claim that they do not leak or pop open, both happened to me storing spaghetti gravy
Issue #3: Instant staining!
Issue #4: Locking and unlocking them was a real pain. There is no ease in closing them so definitely not good for anyone who has difficulties using their hands.

Every time a box come to my house with the Rubbermaid Logo on it, it is like a kid on Christmas morning! Is there such thing as having to many Rubbermaid containers? I surely think not!

Enter the Rubbermaid Lock-Its… They have four locking tabs to create an extra secure lid seal that helps keep food fresh and prevents spills. The Easy Find Lids system features lids that snap to bases and other lids for easy storage. The modular canisters stack on top of one another and work with Lock-its food storage containers to save room in your pantry and refrigerator.

The set that I received included a 15-cup, 5.2-cup and 3.7-cup  as well as a 5-cup square once. There are several reasons why I would recommend the Rubbermaid Lock-Its over that other brand. The most important one being that it is a better product and cost less than the other brand!

The lids sit nicely on the tops and lock with almost no effort at all! Spencer (2) can even close and open them with no problem. All of the sizes seem to be exactly what you need. I am always debating one being to big or to little for the amount of stuff I want to put in it. I haven’t done that yet with these!

Rubbermaid is no longer for just food. Think totally outside the box! I have several containers around my office including this one which holds our strange but large Sharpie collection!

I have been with Royal almost 9 years now and every year, his grandfather sends us a wonderful delivery from Hickory Farms for Christmas. It is that little treat that we enjoy getting every year. In the past few years I have started to send it back to him as well as to my parents. With my Dad being gone now, it is a little thing my mom now has to look forward to that she doesn’t have to share

Mom Central was kind enough to send me a box of Hickory Farms Summer Sausage and Cheese to review. There are so many different kinds of meats and cheeses that I would love to be able to try them all! The box that we received had (2) 12 oz Beef Summer Sausages, (1) 7oz Pennsylvania Dutch Edam, (1) 6.5 oz Apple Pie Cheddar and (1) 7oz Sharp Wisconsin Cheddar.

I wasn’t sure I would be able to try something called Apple Pie Cheddar. The thought alone made me gag. My immediate reaction was that it would taste like Apple Pie with cheese on top! Not a very good thought. I was pleasantly surprised that it did not taste like Apple Pie at all lol It is a very mild and creamy cheese. Most Cheddar’s that I have had are tough when you cut them. The knife slide right through this one. I would recommend this cheese just as a cheese to try in general. As expected, the sausages and other cheese were just as good!

I have never tried something from Hickory Farms yet that I didn’t like. They have a great selection of things from meat to cheese to fruit! There is also a price range for everyone also from $4.49 to $125! If I could choose anything from their site it would be the Grand Gift Snack Tower!

There is always that person on your list that you have no idea what to buy for them. I do personally recommend something from Hickory. It’s a quality product that has been around for a over 50 years. They know their meat and cheese!

Royal can tell you that I am absolutely ridiculous about drinking tap water. He was so tired of me buying bottled water that we moved to a 5 gallon water cooler. This worked out really great until we moved into our new house. We can not find a place to put it that is convenient. The second problem with these is that Spencer (2) is ALWAYS playing with it.

I received the Cuisinart CleanWater Countertop Filtration System and was so happy to get it up and running. When I returned home from California, Royal had it all setup on the counter for me. It so simple to use that even my 7 year old uses it. I love the hot water feature. This was something that I did not have on my old water cooler. I like it because I can make instant hot chocolate for the family.

A few months back we had a company come out and test our water for a full home filtration system. I have to tell you that I about threw up when I saw what I was giving to the kids. It made me even more sick to think that I was putting that in Spencers bottles at the time. Unfortunately the home system was a little more than I wanted to spend then but it opened my eyes to a whole new world. This would be a great unit for baby bottles alone! half hot and half cold would make a great bottle!
