I don’t ask for votes to often but the last time I asked for your help, nephew won! So I am asking again for help on his behalf! There is NOTHING to sign up for, he doesn’t win anything for winning except recognition and it will literally take less than 30 seconds of your time.

He has been doing MMA/Wrestling for as long as I can remember and he is amazing. To my knowledge he doesn’t win anything for these awards but they are very important to his being able to be listed as a professional fighter in the future. The boys and I walk the trails at this MetroPark at least 4 times a week. Please help me to help Wildwood win this grant from Pepsi for a new playground!

A lifelong passion for the outdoors has to begin somewhere. For most of us, it was time spent playing outside when we were kids, something today’s children are less likely to do than their parents or grandparents.

The intent of this project is to get ALL kids outdoors where they will experience and connect with the unique natural habitats of the Ohio Oak Openings region as they play in each ecological community.

The Prairie is the central organizing space in the playground, providing a visual connection throughout and serving as a transition between active and passive play areas.

Here, children will run, play, get dirty, explore, invent and socialize.

Features of the playground:

• Play areas for ages 0-5 and 5-12
• Play structures for each of these age groups
• Two additional parking spaces for barrier-free access
• Sidewalk from parking lot to playground
• Naturalistic landscaping
• 4 Benches

The grant request is for Phase I of the project.

What is Mamavation?

Mamavation is a social experiment and weight loss campaign. Mamavation is an opportunity for two moms (Mamavation Moms) to change their lives together by entering into a 7 week healthy living boot camp created to give them the tools they need to succeed. The will receive a professional nutritional plan created by a physician that specializes in nutrition, Dr. Renna, and a fitness program created by Tracey Mallett. They will also receive a treadmill from Smooth Fitness, Earth Footwear, an EA SPORTS Active, Tracey Mallett and Tae Bo DVDs. The program is managed by @bookieboo, with the goal of teaching moms how to live life better. The Mamavation campaign plans to give them the tools they need to succeed, in hopes that they will create a healthy lifestyle for themselves and their families.
