Please join us tonight, Friday, August 6th, 2010 at a reception for the opening of Jim’s exhibition.

Jim Williams, resident artist at the Collingwood Arts Center, unveils a new body of work.

Mr. Williams has titled this show “The Adoption Exhibit” – because these paintings need a home.

Mr. Williams is an international award-wining artist with works on display in Moscow, Russia. Mr.  Williams absolute love for nature is evident in his works and his paintings offer vibrant colors and reflect his enthusiasm for life.

Mr. Williams began painting when he was in the third grade. His first exhibit was while he was still a student in junior high school, in which he competed with citywide high school students, being the youngest student to participate.

While in high school, Mr. Williams attended a special art class/workshop under the guidance of Miss Attie, and later that year won a scholarship for art.

Jim is a STAR (Strengthening Toledo Artist Residency) Project instructor, which is an outreach program presented by the Collingwood Arts Center. Youth participants of Earl Enterprise Mentoring Program, Positive Choices, and DYS day Camp at Olander Park have been fortunate to engage themselves in his artistic instruction.

Jim Williams exhibition will open with a public reception at the CAC on August 6, 2010 7pm-10pm. The exhibition will be on display through August 27^th, 2010.

This exhibition is free and open to the public.
