PostHeaderIcon Keeping Your Kids Safe Online

Keeping Your Kids Safe Online - DelightfulChaos.com“Stranger Danger” used to be limited to creepy guys who would hang around the park and try to convince kids to come get candy out of their nearby vans. Today, “Stranger Danger” can apply to, well, anybody. This is because anyone can pretend to be anyone on the internet.

When we were growing up, there was no such thing as cyber bullying. Bullying referred to people, most of the time, picking on another person “out loud.” Even when someone talked behind someone else’s back, everybody knew who was saying what to whom. Today, kids can bully each other relentlessly online without teachers or other people ever knowing anything about it.

When we were kids, we weren’t encouraged to take “sexy selfies” or nude pictures and send them to people we thought liked us. Even if someone wanted one, there was no way to do it without someone else finding out about it. Back then, cameras had film and that film had to be developed by someone. It would likely be dropped off and picked up by our parents. Today, kids can send questionable content in an instant via their mobile devices. That questionable content can get sent to vast swaths of people in another instant.

The times, they have a-changed. Wow have they changed. read the rest of this entry »

Disclosure: I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for GoodNites* TRU-FIT*. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.

It has been about 6 years since I was a potty training parent and 4 years since we had bedwetting troubles. When my youngest was 2 and a half, we moved out due to the decision to no longer remain with my ex-husband. It was a very trying time for all of us. The change in living situations was a lot for a little one. We went through a year of bed wetting. It was not an every night thing but, at least once a week. I know that it wasn’t his fault. Sometimes he would get a drink of water a little too late, forget to use the potty before bed etc. This was my fault of course. He was only 3 years old so, it was my responsibility.

As children get older, they can become embarrassed by bed wetting. They certainly do not want their friends to know. That’s why GoodNites* TRU-FIT* exists. They are a discrete solution for your child who may have lower self-confidence as a result of bedwetting! Whether they are at home in their own beds or having fun at a friends house, GoodNites* TRU-FIT* underwear protects your child and keeps them self-assured and feeling confident. • Bedwetting is a pretty common condition that children cannot control or be trained to not do.
  • Did you know that 43% of parents believe that bedwetting can be “trained” out of a child? This is not so.

Summer is all about family, friends, the sun and spending quality time with our loved ones. The more skills you develop, the more time you invest in your family and all of your relationships. First Things First (FTF) is an award winning not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening families.

So many parents work full time+ jobs these days. For many of them, finding quality with spend with the children can be difficult. I make every effort to spend time with my boys. I lost my Dad when I was 30 years old and I wish I was able to have more time with him. When I was a little girl, he was always working. He worked to provide for us and give us the things that he didn’t have when he was growing up. I think this is the way most parents are. I didn’t understand this when I was 10 but at 36 years old, I am grateful for all he did for us. I was definitely a Daddy’s Girl all the way! THe time a little girl spends with her Dad, is so important so make the most of all the time you can! It’s about the quality of time, not the quantity.
