PostHeaderIcon Recipe Book? Family Photos? Blog Archive? Blurb has you covered! (Giveaway)

Many years ago, a friend of mine lost all of his family photos in a fire. Two of my cousins have no pictures of themselves as babies because of some family problems. Memories can be lost due to many reasons. Death, fire, theft, flood. Even things like the recent Hurricane, Sandy. We don’t realize how precious pictures are until we don’t have them anymore. What would you do if you lost all of those memories? Most people keep digital pictures these days. If those are not guarded they can be lost just as easily as printed photos.

PostHeaderIcon Show your individual style with #AlphabetPhotography

It is sometimes really hard to decorate if you don’t know where to start or have the extra money to do it. Ever walk into a room at someone’s house and couldn’t tell what their style was? That would be me. I know what I like but trying to make it all work together can be a real headache. You can get the same kind of a headache trying to buy a gift for someone at Christmas. Since it is right around the corner, you are probably feeling it!

Two things I really love are photography and the outdoors. When I found a way to combine them, it was really exciting for me. With John’s recent passing, I knew exactly what I wanted to do as soon as I read the offer for Alphabet Photography in my email. I wanted a piece of art that would also be a memory for me. Something with meaning behind it.

They offer a few different options for how you would like your letters to appear on your art.  You can choose from people who’s bodies are shaped into letters, things that can be found all over that look like a letter, neon signs and they just introduced sea foam. It’s actually sea foam that has shaped itself and looks like letters.

PostHeaderIcon Protect Yourself while Christmas Shopping with #LifeLock

Seems like just yesterday we were shopping for back to school. Right after Halloween, stores are already beginning to put out Christmas stuff. It’s crazy! Whether you are an in-store shopper or an online shopper, you are at risk of identity theft. If you are like my best friend, you are sitting there thinking, “That wouldn’t happen to me. Who would want to steal my identity? I have nothing to steal!” Guess what? The day after Christmas last year, someone stole her identity. She didn’t know it for almost 2 months! You can not imagine the headache and hassles included with this. From dealing with banks, the police,  credit cards companies and so on. It took her almost 8 months to get it all cleaned up.

Before I started working with Lifelock, I wondered how people get their in formation stolen. For her, she was standing in line waiting to pay, holding her card and the person behind her wrote down her number. The only reason she knew this was because it was captured on the store security camera. One thing I always do it leave my cads behind my drivers license and my license is always backwards in my wallet. when you flip it open, everyone can see your information.

Christmas is supposed to be a fun and happy time of the year. No one wants to start the new year off fighting identity fraud. We always want the new year to be better than the last in one way or another. LifeLock is a great and affordable way to protect not only yourself, but your family as well, from identity fraud. When I say affordable, I am really not kidding, it starts at just $9 a month or $99 a year. read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Are you Strong or Soft? Charmin wants to know!

Why is it that kids have to use 10 times the amount of toilet paper than necessary? Spencer is notorious for this. How big is the little butt of a 5 year old anyway? He seems to think it’s the size of Australia. I am a stickler for the toilet paper coming over the top when I put it on the holder. One of my favorite things to do, when I travel to my Mom’s, is to turn all her toilet paper rolls around. She likes it to come from underneath. It drives her nuts! Anyway, by having it come over the top, it makes it even more fun for Spencer because he just spins it off until there is a pile large enough on the floor to absorb the Atlantic Ocean. Okay, maybe just a small lake but you get the idea. Is this a boy thing? Do your little ones do this too? I tried to tell him that he doesn’t need this much because Charmin Ultra Soft is designed with absorbent cushions so he doesn’t have to use near the amount that he does of the leading value brand. It’s enhanced DiamondWeave texture delivers a clean you will notice, with the softness you expect from Charmin!
