PostHeaderIcon Groupon Toledo: $7 for $15 at The Café

Check out Groupon to take advantage of this awesome deal! Sign up (FOR FREE!) and receive daily email with coupon for savings at up to 90%.

Coffee and baked goods have always gone together, like rock ‘n’ roll, yin and yang, and bald-eagle hatchlings and William Howard Taft’s toupee. Introduce your mouth to a dazzling duet with today’s Groupon: for $7, you get $15 worth of bistro fare and drinks at The Café.

Like its minimalist interior, this historic Oliver House eatery keeps its menu simple. Peckish patrons can sample light, freshly made offerings of warm soups, salads, and sandwiches, complemented by a rotating list of daily specials ($5.50−$7.50). Between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., the Café’s warm and cold sandwiches, such as the grilled-ham-and-cheese Croque Monsieur ($7.50) and the tangy-tuna Waldorf-salad sandwich ($7.25) rest contentedly on black-checkered tissue paper before meeting their delectable demise. Assuage appetites in the Café’s sleek, minimalist dining room amid tasteful artwork and warm brick accents, then retire to the breezy courtyard to season postmeal sips with fresh sunshine. Guests can sip on café au laits while they browse the web via the complimentary WiFi, or mime coffee-drinking and internet searching to the customers around them.

PostHeaderIcon Sometimes it’s cool to be square….

When I first moved, the boys and I were doing the paper plate thing for a few months. I had been giving much thought to what kind of dishes I wanted to buy but just never seemed to get around to it. After all, I hate washing dishes so paper worked just fine! Paper got old and expensive and I started to window shop. About that time, I was  presented with the opportunity to try out the new dinnerware line Chef’s Table from Oneida. Imagine my excitement when I saw SQUARE dishes! Why?….

I have always loved the look of a square plate. It just think it makes the meal look fancier and more of a professional look. It doesn’t matter what you put on it, in my opinion, it always looks better on a square plate. I love that the bowls to this set are a bit over sized and hold more than your standard cereal bowl.

These everyday dishes are easy to care for and most pieces are both dishwasher and microwave safe. You may want to wash over sized platters or more delicate pieces by hand. Always use a gentle, non-citrus detergent. Use care when loading the machine so that no piece can rub or bump against another during the wash cycle. Allow your dinnerware to dry and cool completely before removing. Something that I didn’t know, never soak dinnerware for long periods or overnight!

The strength and simplicity of this collection are what define it. The gentle aesthetic details add subtle touches that will accentuate your epicurean creations, while ultra-durable porcelain makes Chef’s Palette restaurant-quality. Perfect for the chef-at-heart or anyone looking to enhance their table presentation, this collection can be mixed and matched with pieces from Chef’s Table for more creative tabletops. These dishes are made of fine porcelain in a warm white body color. They are dishwasher and microwave safe and come with a 3 Year No-Chip Warranty on place setting items.

This set normally sells for a whopping  $140 but you can purchase it on Oneida.com, currently reduced to $69.99 for a service for 4! If you are interested in this set, now is a great time to cash in on the deal!
