TAKING A ROAD TRIP, OH MY! In 2013, my family of 3 became a family of 6, interesting human beings, (7 if you count the dog). This required a little more brain power on my part. My Mom and brothers live 500 miles away so taking a road trip several times a year is pretty common for this crazy bunch. We have also taken an amazing road trip to Washington D.C., in the summer of 2016, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan last summer.

Most people have a vehicle that holds 5 people because the average family size is only 4. Naturally, Patrick had one of those vehicles. Luckily for us, I have a Jeep Commander that seats 7 people. So, woohoo, I have the Mom vehicle, which is okay because I love my Jeep. Patrick has a Jeep Cherokee which is completely out for traveling unless it is just the 2 of us (like that ever happens) or for whatever reason, all of the children aren’t traveling with us.

PostHeaderIcon 6th Annual Truck Driver Appreciation Week

Image9How often do you think, “I wonder where this came from?”, when you are at the grocery store, sitting on your furniture.. what about the materials used to build your house? I bet your answer was never. Don’t feel bad, you are among the millions of others that never think a truck driver supplied it.

All too often, truck drivers are not thought of or appreciated. Most of the population doesn’t even understand the importance of this job and what these men and women sacrifice for US. The only “easy” thing about being a truck driver is physically driving the truck. Even that isn’t easy at times. Imagine how you feel trying to navigate the roads in the rain and snow… now add roughly 70,000 pounds to it. Doesn’t sound fun, does it? Most truck drivers I know love the open road. What they don’t like is 4-wheelers. That would be you, in your car or SUV.

Before I met one of my good friends, I had a lot of misconceptions about trucking and truckers. I bet you think they just get in the truck and go. That’s just so difficult right? Wrong… Before every driver can even head down the road, they have a multitude of things that they Semi Truckneed to do first. What do you do when you get to work? Punch the clock and begin. Not these men and women!  They have to know EXACTLY what the weight of their load is, what the tractor/trailer weighs, what to do if they are overweight, can they legally drive to a scale to even find out if they are legal weight. Yes, shippers do screw up and it’s on the driver! Which I personally think is garbage but, I digress. That’s not even all of it. They have to know if they have enough time left to deliver the load on time, take a shower, eat, do routine maintenance,  do I have the permits that I need, pre-trip inspections, bridges or tunnels on the route… *deep breath* I really could go on and on but, I think you get the idea.

PostHeaderIcon Change Your Entire Life in 3 Simple Steps

Before you start to roll your eyes, and stop reading, let me tell you that I WANT skeptics to read this post. I want the “Yea Right” people to read this post. I want the “Oh I saw that stuff on Facebook. it’s not for me” to read this. Forget everything you know about supplements, working out, eating healthy. Even if you think that you are already “healthy”, trust me, it can get better! Also, I am not trying to SELL you anything. I am sharing my story with you. If you are already on this journey, please leave a comment and tell me your story!

I am the biggest skeptic about everything. I will give people the benefit of the doubt but, when it comes to products and spending money, my skepticism goes on high alert. Trust me, I understand exactly what you are thinking right now because I was you.

A very good friend of mine had been posting on Facebook for months about a product. I would see the posts, maybe hit the like button, to support her journey, but I would also think, “What a waste of money” at the same time. She posted about a local event that she was going to and I decided to be a supportive friend and go with her. I had absolutely no interested in the product and went with my skeptic hat on.

We arrived at the meeting and there were a bunch of other ladies there. Within the first 5 minutes, I was thinking, “These ladies are nuts! Oh my goodness, they are so peppy and happy *vomit*” I sat there, listened and did many internal eye rolls. Yes, I was judging.. That is normally NOT who I am. My major problem was, I didn’t believe any of it.

After leaving the meeting, doing some research and thinking about my life, I contacted my friend and jumped on board. This is where my story begins. I personally love my story because it is so drastic how my life has changed.

I had been a very unhappy person for a very long time. I had not slept through the night is over 10 years. I was over weight, depressed with my life, struggled to be the best Mom I could be and was flat out… BLAH all the time. I had absultely no energy or will to do anything.

My children are very self sufficient, which meant I had minimal work to do for them to get off to school. I would set my alarm for 5 minutes before they would walk out the door. I’d sit outside and wait for them to get on the bus then go inside and go back to bed. I would sleep until I just woke up. This could range anywhere from 12 to 2 in the afternoon. I was still always tired, unproductive and felt like absolute garbage. I couldn’t sleep at night and would sleep all day. It really wasn’t a good way to live for me or my family.

I do not like to exercise. I don’t like most fruits and vegetables. I hardly ever drank any water. I wasn’t sleeping. I wasn’t eating breakfast every day. I was overweight. I basically was doing nothing to ensure that I would be around to meet my grandchildren some day.

On March 26th, 2017, I began my Thrive journey. Did you just decide to stop reading? Please don’t. I want you to know my story and I hope that you will tell me yours. Thrive is an 8 week experience but, for me, it hit me on day 1. I was given the title of “Day 1er” by my team. It happens to some people but, there is no time frame on when YOUR body will say, “WOW!!” Some people are Day 5, Day 10, Day 17.

I am 2 days away from my 8 week mark. It is so difficult to put into words how my life has changed. I am now asleep by 10:00 most evenings and I am up before everyone else. My body seems to love 6:45 am. In the beginning, I thought it was total crap. I didn’t want to be up at 6:45 in the morning. I had a love/hate relationship with sleeping all day. No one else in the house was awake yet, why was I?! The feeling of sleeping through the night, without waking up 20 times, is incredible.

Everyone in my home has noticed a big difference in me. Spencer, my 10 year old, has told me that he is so glad that I started Thrive. He says that he gets to see me more because I am not always sleeping. This made me feel wonderful and crappy at the same time. I was denying my “baby” his Mom. NOT ANYMORE!

My days are actually productive now. I garden, clean, go for walks and am a much happier person. This is NOT a diet. This is NOT a weight loss program. This is NOT a complicated, ridiculous journey. This is NOT a pyramid scheme! This IS nutrition! Vitamins and minerals that your body NEEDS. YOU DO have nutritional gaps regardless of how healthy your lifestyle is. Thrive fills in those nutritional gaps! Now, I want to tell you how you can change your life with me! Thrive is for MEN, WOMEN and even KIDS! Yes, we have a kids line too.

This is how SIMPLE my morning is!

  1. When I wake up in the morning, before my feet even hit the floor, I take 2 Women’s Thrive Capsules with at least 8 ounces of water. Taking them before you get out of bed is very important.
  2. After that, I wait 20 minutes and I shake up my Lifestyle Mix with 8-10 ounces of milk. If you are not a milk drinker, it can also be mixed with water or juice. I was not excited about the Thrive Lifestyle Mix at first. I didn’t even want to try it. I had these ideas that all of these “good for you” shakes tasted absolutely disgusting. I personally LOVE the chocolate. You can also get it in Vanilla, Strawberry or Apple Pie! It was not awful at all! It took me a few days to adjust to the vanilla but, I learned to like it too, chocolate is still my favorite though. Okay, I am so excited that I am rambling now. This ultra micronized mix was perfectly designed to complement the THRIVE Lifestyle Capsules and DFT. Their blend of Vitamins, Minerals, Plant Extracts, Anti-oxidants, Enzymes, Pro-Biotics, and Amino Acids is the first and only Ultra Premium Mix ever developed. THRIVE Mix, combined daily with the THRIVE Capsules and DFT, completes a premium lifestyle and creates a premium you. The saying “not all shakes are created equal” is proven true by their ultra micronized Premium Lifestyle Mix, which is in a category all by itself. Live more, be more, experience more, THRIVE for more with THRIVE Mix.
  3. Next, you put on a DFT (derma fusion technology). What the heck is a DFT? It’s WEARABLE NUTRITION! The DFT delivery system was designed to infuse the derma (skin) with Le-vels unique, premium grade THRIVE Lifestyle Formula, different than the Capsule & Shake formula, and to result in a delivery rate benefiting the individual over an extended period of time.
  4. And you are DONE for the rest of the day. 3 simple steps in the first 20 minutes of your day and that’s it!

Can I tell you what else I did?! I did my FIRST run ever! It was on May 13th, Color for Camo which helps raise money for Veterans Matter. I RAN! I have not ran in YEARS!! This was all thanks to THRIVE! My son and my fiance were right there with me. Patrick is a runner, so it was cake for him lol, but he cheered me on and Royal, my son, encouraged Mom all the way. This was a HUGE thing for me. I cannot wait for the Ohio State run in October!
