Do you snack? Don’t be silly, of course you do. I have to admit that cakes and pastries are my weakness. I am not a big fan of chips and candy really, although sometimes chocolate candy is a must. It’s always fun for the kids, and by kids I of course mean me, when a delicious treat arrives in the mail. The nation’s largest baking company, Bimbo Bakeries USA is bringing a new way to snack from Sara Lee. Sara Lee, an American icon is introducing a variety of pre-portioned delicious Snack Cakes to lunch boxes nationwide this August. Just in time for back-to-school, the new, baked fresh to go Snack Cakes make it easy to take along the quality and heritage of the Sara Lee brand to consumers on-the-go, for anytime snacking. Anytime snacking? I’m there!
The new Sara Lee Snack Cakes are the next best thing to baking it yourself. Sara Lee has a delicious line of cakes available and guess what? We were able to try some! First let me tell you what they are.
Crème Filled Snack Cakes
Devil’s Food Crème Cakes: Scrumptious Devil’s Food Cake, topped with a heavenly layer of crème, surrounded by a rich, chocolaty coating.
Chocolate Crème Cupcakes: Divine chocolate cake, filled with sweet crème, iced with a delectable chocolate top and a white drizzle.
Golden Fudge Cakes: Moist golden cake, topped with mouth-watering fudge, all within a delicious chocolaty shell.
Golden Crème Cakes: Simply irresistible golden cake, complimented with just the right touch of crème.
Variety Snack Cakes
Buttery Sunshine Cakes: Light and buttery golden cake baked to perfection.
Crumb Cakes: Moist golden cake covered with a sweet crumb topping.
Cheese Topped Crumb Cakes: Silky golden cake topped with a ribbon of rich cheese and sprinkled
with a sweet crumb topping.
My Opinion: We were given the opportunity to try the Buttery Sunshine Cakes and the Devil’s Food Creme Cakes. The Buttery Sunshine cakes are AMAZING. Seriously, I could grab a gallon of milk and eat the entire box. They were so smooth and almost melt in your mouth. The Creme cakes, I wasn’t to much of a fan. Don’t misunderstand, they were delicious but I had a few issues with them. There is not enough filling for me. If you like a light creme flavor, you will enjoy these. I also found that the chocolate coating crumbles off. This is definitely not something you want to hand your child who is wearing a white shirt
The new Snack Cakes are launching now in select markets across the U.S. including the Southeast, MidAtlantic, Pacific Northwest, South Central and Southern California. The delicious on-the-go treats are set to roll out nationally in August 2013, just in time for the back-to-school season.
