  • My friend Toni has asked us to help her help our Humane Society by commenting. I think the topic is the never ending problem with the junk drawer?

Our junk drawer stays full, brimming with items that feel too essential to get rid of but that never seem to be used for anything. The junk drawer is where I keep the batteries, except I never find the size battery I’m looking for when I need it.

Our junk drawer, the one that is filled to the brim with items I can’t seem to part with, is the first place I go to look for something essential like scissors, candles, or those chains for hanging the the plants on the fornt porch. But somehow, I never find the thing I am looking for in that drawer when I need it. Days later, yes. In the moment? Almost never.

I have emptied the drawer multiple times. Gritted my teeth, squinted my eyes and gotten rid of stuff. Somehow it magically refills with essential-yet-non-essential items almost moments after being emptied. A pity since the kitchen is small and space is at a premium.

I have resigned myself to have a middle drawer (a large middle drawer) in a tiny kitchen that is basically worthless. Junk drawer indeed.

I hope you win. I would love to see the money go to the Humane Society. We all need to help animals! Good Luck.

Thanks Maryann! I really need comments so I would appreciate if you could share it!
