I am always looking for new ways for the boys to be online in a way that is both fun and educating. Like most kids, if they think it’s boring work, they have no interest! I received an email about a website called Cwist. Here is a little bit about it. And yes FTC, I was paid to do so, however, I am recommending this site because after having the boys use it, I truly think it is a great educational tool!
Cwist is the only digital platform to harness the creative power of both parents and educators to develop, test and share hundreds of challenges that educate the whole child.
Crowd-sourced from parents, educators, mom bloggers and experts, cwist features an interactive library of educational, community service, outdoor and unique challenges or “cwists” for kids ages 5-10, AND helps them to make a healthy connection between the things they want and the effort it takes to get them.
While a great resource and community for parents, cwist is also a great way to see what your kids are wishing for and giving them a way to earn it. Partner companies, like Imagine Toys, Edmund Scientific and others, make it easy for kids to select rewards they really want. And if it’s not on cwist, kids can chose to enter their own unique reward.
The cwists can be anything from organizing a community clean-up, researching fun facts for upcoming family trips or simply finishing chores every day on time. Kids choose parent-approved rewards which can range from a sleepover, day trip, toy or gadget they have wanted or something completely unique and original.
I did have a few issues with the site but it was nothing that wasn’t quickly figured out. I really love that you can create your own “twists” with this. If you aren’t interested in doing that, there are a lot from both educators and parents like yourself, to chose from! If you are a busy Mom, this is for you! It features digital “project board” complete with alerts and social media integration. When Royal was doing some work for school, he loved posting it to his Facebook page, which is all family, so they could see what he was up to and when he got a good score.
This is also a great tool for teachers. It provides them with a goal setting tool so kids can have fun while learning and earn “prizes” for the classroom. You can get discounts on products and services, save time by helping with organization and follow-through an it’s a way for moms to receive rewards for sharing their cwist ideas with other moms!
The kids love cwist because it’s a game that they play online and offline, and they get to share their success with their friends. Going on a cwist gives kids a chance to earn the kinds of things they want. They control whether they get what they want by following through and completing a challenge. Kids can “wish”, showing their parents exactly what they want and have a good chance of earning it by saying, “I’ll go on a cwist for this.”
Check it out and I hope you love it as much as I do!
