Something that the boys really love to do is, make their own pizza. I must admit, I really enjoy it myself. Just don’t tell them ok? They think I do it for them only. Because we all have such different likes, it makes pizza night cheaper and there is a lot less arguing. I am not a vegetable eater. The kids are so, I don’t want that stuff on my pizza.
If I don’t have the time to go out and buy, sort and plate all of the ingredients for them, I will pick up some of the ready to go pizza kits. Yesterday was one of those nights. Since they have karate at 4:30, dinner is often something quick and simple. Sometimes it’s pizza, sometimes its soup and sammies. There just isn’t enough time to get them from school, get home work done and eat dinner before they leave. They isually grab a snack after school and then we eat after karate. the usual 5:00 dinners are pushed to 6.
When I first started buying the kits, the options were overwhelming. A few months ago, I found a multide of kits by a company named Family Finest. Not only did they have pizza kits but, they also had cookie kits, breadstick kits and calzones! Did I mention scones? Yes, scones too! Upon further research of the company, I learned that the Family Finest family brand brings a heritage of old world recipes from the marketplace to your home.
If you don’t have a crazy schedule, the kits are also good for after school snacks, Friday night family parties, college dorms, sleepovers, pool parties and appetizers. You can make one or four at a time. I love that they come with a convenient re-sealable cheese, pepperoni and sauce packs.
We also picked up a few of the cookie kits. They were a fun little project for the kits to do while they waited for their pizzas to be done. Who doesn’t love freshly baked cookies? Find great decorating cookie ideas for inspiration here!
