PostHeaderIcon What makes you feel like Angry Birds during summer break?

Summer break with 4 boys is nothing less than insanity. From the 15-year-old to the 9-year-old, it’s like Mom has to entertain them as if they were 3. I shouldn’t complain too much though. They definitely keep my butt moving and that is something I really need. Well, at least most days. I do have those ‘Mom Wants To Stay In Bed’ days. Not that I ever get them but, I digress.

If I had to pick the thing that makes me angry during summer break, I would have to be the fact that my kids seem to thing our backyard is a laundry basket. I am unsure why these 4 children can’t hang things up. They are in the pool 7 days a week which equals towels, swimsuits and clothes everywhere. Are they practicing for when they become husbands and think their wives are the maids? Maybe it’s just life with two teenagers and two nine-year olds that follow suit. I nix it as often as I can but, it’s an ongoing battle.

We took the kids to see The Angry Birds movie on Sunday. I am not to adult to admit that I love kids movies. I didn’t realize how much I could relate to a bird. Red is my hero. Now I am not saying that I am an angry person all the time but, I do tend to say what I am thinking at all times. I laughed so hard at some of the things Red did. There is no doubt that things seem much more funny when you can relate to the character. read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon 10 years ago today….

10 years ago today I was blessed with the most amazing and previously baby boy. I can’t believe that Royal has grown so much so fast. I used to listen to my parents say, “They grow up so fast.” and you never quite get that until you have your own. You also don’t really appreciate what your parents have gone through until you become one.

So many things have happened in our lives in the past few years and I am so proud of Royal. He is becoming such a smart and observant young man. Not that is wasn’t smart before. He has gone through things that I wouldn’t wish on any child but, he has come out the other side like a champ.

He asked for an Angry Bird cake for his birthday and I hesitated. I am not crafty with this kind of thing even though this cake may appear that I am. I can’t wait for him to see it. I think I may even be a bit more excited then he will Ben I am so proud of myself for this one. I didn’t think I could do it. I am very fearful of what he is going to ask for next year after he sees it! lol

Thank you so much to Peggy Murnahan from Mad Eliza’s for answering all my questions! This woman has crazy skills! Definitely check out her site.
