Clorox Ode to the Commode
My sons are like fish when it comes to water. It is only March and they are already asking me when the pool will be open. My oldest is actually going to be on a swim team this year! Usually bath time consists of me telling Spencer that he can’t stay in the tub for 3 hours. If he isn’t “pruney” he says he can’t get out yet. It is like some kind of a timer to him. Like if he gets out before his fingers are “pruney” the world will end or something.
While I really can’t think of anything my boys have really done in the bathtub that is funny, I did recall a picture that I took of Royal when he was just about a year old. It is one of my favorite pictures of him! When I went looking through my compurter for it, I came across another that I took when he was 3. Is tarted laughing because I didn’t remember taking the second one. I guess I thought I needed a silly follow up p[ic. RED SOLO CUP! My “baby” is going to be 10 in July. Oh my gosh, where did the time go?

Is your child at risk for Identity Theft?
I became a LifeLock Ambassador last year and I can’t tell you the amount of crucial information I have learned about Identity theft. Just when I think I know it all, the next month brings another draw dropper of facts. From ways people can get our information to how many of our service men and woman are targeted.
This month I want to educate you on just how much your child is at risk for Identity Theft. Seems crazy right? I would want to steal the identity of a child? They have absolutely no credit history so what good would it do. It may surprise you to learn that this makes them a prime target for Identity theft! Are you sitting there thinking you can’t afford it? LifeLock Memberships start as low as just $10 a month!

Identity thieves, criminals, and even relatives or friends may take advantage of your child’s identity. Personal identity information such as your child’s Social Security number and date of birth can be obtained from many places including medical offices, schools, and even online profiles. Armed with a child’s personal information, thieves can fraudulently:
- Open new credit-based accounts like credit cards or mortgages
- Establish new non-credit accounts like utilities, and cell phone services
- Obtain employment and then evade paying taxes, for which the child will be held responsible.
When I was in Arizona, I learned about a man who got satellite TV in his sons name because he wanted the NFL Ticket. He apparently was not paying the bills and when they kid was old enough, his credit was damaged by this. Props for the Dad for messing up the kids credit before he could even get started *insert sarcasm*
- 8% of the ID Theft Complaints filed in the FTC Consumer Sentinel Network in 2010 were for victims aged 19
- According to a McAfee study on “risky online behavior of teens”: Although teens are heavy Internet users, it’s still surprising that 27% say that they have accidentally infected their home computer with a virus or other malware, and 14% say that they shared their passwords with friends.

Help protect your children today with LifeLock. It’s easy and inexpensive to add a child to your existing account.

- According to a recent Carnegie Mellon CyLab survey, 10.2% of the children in the report had someone else using their Social Security number.
- New study from ID ANALYTICS found that 140,000 identity frauds are perpetrated on minors each year and that credit card and wireless activity are the most common—60 percent of the potential fraudulent identity use alerts sent to minors originated from the credit card industry.
- Unused Social Security numbers are uniquely valuable as thieves can pair them with any name and birth date. This is particularly useful for illegal immigration.
- A child’s identity is a blank slate, and the probability of discovery is low, as the child will not be using it for a long period of time. Parents typically don’t monitor their children’s identities.
- The potential impact on the child’s future is profound; it could destroy or damage a child’s ability to win approval on student loans, acquire a mobile phone, obtain a job or secure a place to live.
- The primary drivers for such attacks are illegal immigration (e.g., to obtain false IDs for employment), organized crime (e.g., to engage in financial fraud) and friends and family (e.g., to circumvent bad credit ratings, etc.).

Build-A-Bear Hugs Kisses For You Puppy
Valentine’s Day is supposed to be about showing love. Now while I am not a big believer in the traditional ways of Valentine’s Day, I do make sure to do something a little special for my boys. If you ae looking for a cute present for your little ones, check out this adorable new Puppy from Build-A-Bear. It’s called “Hugs Kisses for you Puppy”
Get a lifetime of hugs from this sweet gift! With magnets in its mouth and paws, this loveable friend can hold hands and blow kisses. It comes dressed in a Red Hugs Hoodie, Classic Jeans, Red Plaid Shoes and Heart Antenna Headband. My favorite part about this cutie was, when you put the hood up, there are cut outs in the top to pull the ears through. It looks so sweet. The hearts headband is removable and we put it right in the drawer because he kept taking it off and trying to wear it. Not that he didn’t look cute as a button but, his head was just a tad to big ![]()

Protect Infants from Deadly Meningococcal Meningitis
As parents, we try to do everything that we can to ensure that our children are safe and healthy; however, we may not always be aware of how to protect them from some of the most dangerous diseases. These may even some of the things that we don’t think about because you do not heard stories often enough.
Meningoc+occal disease, also called meningitis, is a sudden and very aggressive illness that can kill a previously healthy child within 24-48 hours of the first symptoms. These symptoms typically start out as non-specific and mimic symptoms of the flu. Infants younger than one year old are at a disproportionately higher risk for contracting meningococcal meningitis due to their less sophisticated immune systems. While vaccines exist to protect against this deadly disease, they are not currently universally recommended for infants.
