Wild Summer Nights (August 13, 20 and 27) are at the Detroit Zoo! This year they are partnering up with Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC). Valvoline Instant Oil Change is a great company and I personally have been going to them for over 10 years now.
Wild Summer Nights featuring The Candy Band– Please post this information the week of 8/18
When: Wednesday, August 20
Time: 6 – 8 p.m.
Event Features: The Candy Band will play music in the Main Picnic Grove from 6:30 to 8 p.m.while the entire zoo is open until 8 p.m. Visitors can enjoy the zoo for a special $6 pricing after6 p.m. There is a grill tent in the Main Picnic Grove that serves Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Brats, a Vegetarian Hoagie and more. We also do have beer and wine available for purchase.
Additional info: Valvoline Instant Oil Change will have a booth at the event handing out candy, coupons and prizes from their spin-to-win wheel. Ford is paying for the first 100 non-member cars that come after 6 p.m. every Wednesday night.

I can’t believe it’s April already. The weather has been crazy. You can’t count on what the weather is going to be like from day to day. It makes is so difficult to plan outdoor activities with the kids. We will be heading to GreenFest!
One thing you can count on is, on the 22nd of this month, we will be celebrating Earth Day. In observance of this global holiday, celebrating life on our planet, the Detroit Zoo is hosting its annual GreenFest celebration. This Zoo wide celebration includes earth-friendly crafts, an endangered species scavenger hunt, animal enrichment activities, zookeeper talks and exhibits by local conservation groups. I love Easter! Please don’t tell anyone it’s really because I love to steal all of the orange jelly beans from the kids baskets. Shhhh! But seriously, everyone celebrates this holiday for different reasons. Whether you celebrate for religious purposes or just because you love Easter egg hunts, it’s always nice to have something fun to do with the family. If you live within driving distance to Detroit, I have something you won’t want to miss out on! Pack up the car and head to the Detroit Zoo!
This year, it is going to be an “egg-stravaganza” of total family fun at the Detroit Zoo’s 23rd annual Bunnyville event. For 2014, they will have two days of bunny fun. This will be taking place on Friday, April 18th and Saturday, April 19th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. There will be so much for every one to do so you won’t want to miss it! Bunnyville features treats, games, crafts, live entertainment, animal enrichment activities, zookeeper talks and so much more!
