Who plans to see Mars Needs Mom on March 11th when it comes out?  What do you mean you have never heard of it?  It is the new Disney movie coming out about 9 year old Milo who finds out just how much he needs his mom when she is abducted by Martians. I hope to be able to take the boys to see it.

Have you ever sat and actually thought about everything you do for your children on a daily basis? I really didn’t until I saw the preview for this movie. I sat and thought about it and I don’t imagine Spencer or Royal would survive for very long without me. I couldn’t help but laugh at what my place would look like if they ran it. (Who am I kidding, they run it now!) I decided to ask them what they would miss most if I was snatched by Martians… Here is what they both said. (Royal (8) and Spencer (3.5))

1. You always give us good mom kisses and hugs (Royal)

2. We couldn’t sleep in sometimes on school mornings  (Royal)

3. No one would cook my favorite things (like Ramen) (Royal) Did he really say Ramen? lol

4. I would miss you because you are a great mom (Spencer)

5. We would have to wear dirty clothes because no one would wash them (Royal)

6. I would be starving all day cuz  no one would buy our food! (Spencer)

7. Our room would be a mess because we are to lazy to clean it! (Royal) LOL at least he knows!

8. Who would remind me to use the potty? (Spencer)

9. I would miss your yummy delicious A+ french toast! (Royal)

10. Most of all we would miss snuggling on the couch at night watching movies (Royal) AWE!

I have to say that hearing them ramble off a ton of things makes me feel pretty awesome. I am sure  most moms have the days like me where they feel like “a bad mom”. Sometimes you really don’t realize what your value is to certain people unless you ask. Being a single mom, I don’t realize most of the time just how much the boys depend on me for the little things like clipping their nails and cleaning their ears. Some people want to be doctors or teachers, I just wanted to be a Mom. I am thankful that I was able to be that times 2.
