I have always loved astronomy. Following start charts and searching out consilations proved to be a difficult task for me. While I can find the popular things, really trying to study it became too much of a headache. When our loved ones move on, we always look to the sky to speak to them. While I am not a religious person by any means, I do believe that we all go somewhere. My Dad left this world in 2008. It was a tremendous loss for us and a “win” for Cancer. He is officially a star. Interesting isn’t it? Curious? I sure was.
The International Star Registry has introduced their New Photographic Sky Chart. Customers can add this to their star package when they name a star. Since 1979 International Star Registry has been naming stars for people all over the world. The star names and their coordinates are permanently recorded in the book, YOUR PLACE IN THE COSMOS, to be registered at the Copyright Office of the United States of America. To date, 9 volumes of this book have been published containing over 2 million star names. The Photographic Sky Chart is a collaborative effort between a team of German photographers and International Star Registry. The location of the named star is digitally indicated and circled. We just finished Christmas shopping and it’s already time to get in the Valentine’s Day shopping spirit. Usually when we think of this holiday, most people associate it with their significant others. Not me! I am not big on Valentine’s Day but I do try to do something special for the boys. It is about showing love after all right? I love them so why not make it fun? This year, think of parents, grandparents, teachers, aunts, uncles…. the list is endless. Photo Cards and gifts are a great way to show them how much you care. It’s a fantastic way for the kids to make something for a grandparent that maybe doesn’t get to see them very often. Even sending a simple Valentine’s Day card get let someone know you care.

It is sometimes really hard to decorate if you don’t know where to start or have the extra money to do it. Ever walk into a room at someone’s house and couldn’t tell what their style was? That would be me. I know what I like but trying to make it all work together can be a real headache. You can get the same kind of a headache trying to buy a gift for someone at Christmas. Since it is right around the corner, you are probably feeling it!
Two things I really love are photography and the outdoors. When I found a way to combine them, it was really exciting for me. With John’s recent passing, I knew exactly what I wanted to do as soon as I read the offer for Alphabet Photography in my email. I wanted a piece of art that would also be a memory for me. Something with meaning behind it.
They offer a few different options for how you would like your letters to appear on your art. You can choose from people who’s bodies are shaped into letters, things that can be found all over that look like a letter, neon signs and they just introduced sea foam. It’s actually sea foam that has shaped itself and looks like letters.
