PostHeaderIcon Simply put, Cancer Sucks #GivingComfort

As the title says, Cancer Sucks! When I was contacted to write about this topic, I was a little hesitant. Not because I didn’t want to help, because I didn’t want to drag out all of the bad memories from the past. I sat down and decided, I needed to do it. Now of course, I am supposed to tell you that this blog post is part of a paid SocialMoms and Giving Comfort blogging program. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own however, that has nothing to do with my story or why I am choosing to write it.

PostHeaderIcon June is National Migraine Month #Giveaway

With June being National Migraine Awareness month, I think it is important for people to really gain some extra knowledge about what they might be going through when it comes to dealing with a migraine. I was asked to write about this topic but I personally am a loyal Excedrin Migraine user! As a single Mom of two boys, I understand that migraines happen when you least expect them. OK – I admit it.  I’m spoiled.  I have a massage therapist in my contacts list.  For those who aren’t so lucky (and for the times Beth can’t fit me into her schedule), there is Massage Envy.  Just think, 60 to 90 minutes of someone focused on only you and your well-being.

I was pleasantly surprised when I went in for my appointment.  The Massage Envy location I went to takes appointments between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm most days, but I went on a Sunday afternoon to recuperate from two days of major cleaning and my teenage daughter’s Saturday night party. Large comfortable chairs, relaxing music, and aromatherapy greeted me in the reception area when I arrived. At check in, Cody had me fill out both basic information and medical questionnaires.  She went over them with me to discuss my allergies (eucalyptus), what type of massage pressure I wanted (available from light to very firm), and if I had any problem areas (my lower back) before giving the forms to Megan, my therapist. read the rest of this entry »
