PostHeaderIcon Review: Bliss Hammock Brazilian Style Hammock in a Bag

I love being outdoors whenever possible. The weather is not a big factor in that either. The boys and I have taken trail walks when it was in the 30’s. I am originally from a more rural area and it’s definitely something that I miss. We have a lot of great parks and trails around here but nothing like back home. There are no places to take a truck and run it through the mud, no places to just hang out on the back of a tailgate and shoot the breeze with your friends, basically, nothing secluded.

Bliss Hammock

One of my favorite things to do these days is hang out in a hammock and catch up on some reading. Now, since I live in an area where putting one up isn’t an option, my friend lets me use hers whenever I want. “Just stop on by and hop in!” she says. It’s really a good way to relax. read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Learn a new way to talk with the Clorox #Icktionary

There have been so many times when something utterly gross happens to us. It seems that these things happen more frequently once you become a parent. How many times have you encountered a messy diaper blow out? My mother said that when my brother was a baby, he took his diaper off and proceeded to draw on the wall with his poop. How wonderful for her! I am so grateful that the boys never did anything like this. Now, the FTC says I have to mention to you that this blog post is part of a paid SocialMoms and Clorox blogging program. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.

Have you ever dropped your smartphone in the toilet? You may not publicly admit it but I am sure many of you have. We have all had many icky moments that we don’t care to discuss and would really like to forget ever happened! Guess what? You’re not alone. Clorox has been faithfully helping you clean up these messes with products from toilet bowl cleaners to disinfecting wipes for a very long time, and now they wanted my help naming life’s biggest messes! My words are Clorox-approved and are in the new online Clorox Ick-tionary, the hilarious dictionary of messes. read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Aloha to Apple Mango Butterfly Kisses

The options when it comes to  laundry detergent can be a bit overwhelming. There are so many choices that a lot of people just always buy the same brand and scent or  just go right for the cheapest on the shelf. I did the “CHEAP STUFF” and let me tell you, having two messy boys, you get what you pay for. Cheap laundry detergent and a lot of left over stains.

I recently received a scent swatch from One2One Network with the scents of the new Gain line. These give new meaning to making your laundry smell wonderful. The scents for detergent and fabric softeners are: Dazzle & Shine, Sunflower & Sunshine, Lavender, Island Fresh, Icy Fresh Fizz, Hawaiian Aloha, Forget Me Not, Floral Fusion, Fireworks, Original, Butterfly Kiss, Dreamy Desire, Apple Mango Tango. Because I love Dragonflies and it was close, I opted to try the Butterfly Kisses scent. Now I have never kissed a butterfly to know what it smells like but I would definitely like to if it smells like this lol.

I don’t like over powering scents and while these scents are strong in the bottle, what is left on the clothes is delightful. I can only speak for the Butterfly Kisses scent on this one. I would be interested to see how the other scents turn out. That is the one thing I dislike about detergents. It’s hard to tell what the after scent will be.

I know you are thinking that these are more money than you want to spend on laundry soap but take me advice from earlier, you get what you pay for! These bottles go a long way if you use them in the way it’s directed.  I do at least 4-5 loads a week so I can understand then expense of products like this.

Some of these have Febreze added to them. If you have pets or smoke, you know what a nice difference this will make.

Are you already a gain fan? We would love to hear from you! Have you tried the new scents yet? Which one is your favorite?

PostHeaderIcon Tackling Little Boys Dirty Laundry

Boys.. messy little dirt playing, puddle jumping, sport playing angels.. Right? Who gets the honor of washing all of those clothes? Mom of course! Boys are just natural born stain magnets. Who needs a napkin when you have a clean shirt to wipe food, mess, and dirt on! Duh… It’s a never ending cycle of the boys coming home with some kind of stain on their clothes. Grass stains on their knees, dirt on white shirts… The best one was when my ex sent Spencer home with a lap covered in caramel from eating ice cream.

Chocolate, grass stains, ketchup, grease OH MY!! How do you get stains out of your clothes so you can keep your family looking their best? New Resolve All-Stains is a dual-action stain remover that rids clothes of stains that simply won’t go away. A trusted name in stain fighting for over 25 years, Resolve offers this new, unique formula that has two chambers – one that has a formula specifically for oxygen stains (dressings, sauces, condiments, coffee, juice, etc), and one for enzyme stains (greasy foods, grass, dirt and chocolate) – to help you tackle any stain you may encounter.  And because the formulas mix together during application, you don’t even need to know what the stain is, and sometimes, you don’t want to ask!  This new product is available now at WalMart and Target for less than $5, Resolve All-Stains will help you take the gamble out of stain fighting once and for all.

My Findings: I tackled some  that the boys came home with. Both boys, both knees and quite honestly some of the worse grass stains they have had. Unfortunately I can’t seem to find my before photo :( but as you can see from the after photo, it did not get it out entirely. Now it did get a lot of it out but to my disappointment there was still a lot left. The stains were also fresh.
