PostHeaderIcon June is National Migraine Month #Giveaway

With June being National Migraine Awareness month, I think it is important for people to really gain some extra knowledge about what they might be going through when it comes to dealing with a migraine. I was asked to write about this topic but I personally am a loyal Excedrin Migraine user! As a single Mom of two boys, I understand that migraines happen when you least expect them. In my case, I have to keep moving. Make meals, wash dishes, do laundry. Kids don’t stop because Mom doesn’t feel well.

Maybe you don’t know where to start.  Excedrin has a new app, which I have told you about before, called My Migraine Triggers™. Over the last six months it has helped many manage their migraines better.. The My Migraine Triggers™ iPhone app, developed by the makers of Excedrin® allows me to track the causes of my migraines, including food.   It then gathers this data into reports and charts that can easily be shared with my doctor. read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Do you know what triggers your migraines? #Giveaway

DelightfulChaos.com GiveawayHave you ever tried to figure out what triggers a migraine for you? Most people I know say that alcohol is a big trigger for them. This is probably because alcohol increases blood flow to your brain, which can cause migraines and headaches. Red wine, beer, whiskey and champagne are the most common culprits. So keep the Jack & Coke coming but no wine! Just kidding.

There are also many foods that can trigger migraines. For those who suffer, it’s extremely important to identify those trigger foods.  By knowing what they are – and avoiding them – migraine sufferers can help reduce the frequency of their migraines.

Excedrin has developed The My Migraine Triggers™ iPhone app, which allows migraine sufferers to track the causes of their migraines. It’s very easy to use and can also be shared with your doctor.  It stores the information in easy to read charts and reports. Registered dietitian Keri Gans offers valuable information about potential migraine trigger foods that every sufferer should know. There are many foods and drinks that can trigger migraines, like citrus fruits, nuts, and foods that contain MSG. It’s important for folks to determine which foods are potential migraine triggers for them. By tracking their triggers, people can avoid them in the future, to help prevent or minimizing migraine attacks. read the rest of this entry »

According to a new survey, an incredible majority (93%) of women who suffer from migraines say they want a better understanding of their migraine triggers, yet only 11% say they currently track potential migraine triggers regularly. Hopefully with the holidays behind you, the migraines are slowing down a bit for you. Unfortunately, there are many who just get them all the time.  After speaking to many of my friends, family members and other bloggers, I have learned that most are not even aware of what triggers their migraines. That’s why the makers of Excedrin® Migraine teamed up with a neurologist to create the My Migraine Triggers™ app; a free, easy-to-use and convenient migraine tracking tool.

This app will allow you to: – Keep track of your everyday activities, such as exercise, stress and eating habits to help identify your potential migraine triggers – Chart out daily log information into customizable reports to easily understand which activities, foods and beverages are associated with the onset of your headaches – Print or email your log and results to share with your doctor to better diagnose and treat your migraines And the more you use it, the more it helps. Since migraines can set-in up to 48 hours after being exposed to a trigger, it is important to record potential triggers whether or not a migraine has started. Don’t wait until your next migraine. Download the My Migraine TriggersTM app and start tracking your migraines today. I love the Excedrin Migraine Trigger App because it lets you pinpoint exactly what is happening to you and when. I have learned, for myself, that drinking anything caffeinated after 5 pm gives me a migraine. I have also found that NOT drinking a glass of Orange Juice first thing in the morning will give me a migraine by lunch. Now I am not certain WHY these things are happening, other then I’m just weird ;) , but it helps me get a lot less of them. I used to live with someone who suffered from a lot of migraines so I see how awful chronic ones can be. I hope you will download the app, which is free, and you too can get a little more knowledge on whats happening with you.

Now for the fun part! The winners of our previous giveaway are….

The Catalogue app by TheFind is a free and new way to browse through all your favorite store catalogs available for iPad, Kindle Fire and Android (large screen) phones. At any time, there are roughly 95 catalog merchants featuring 175-200 issues inside the app including fashion, beauty, home, kids and more. Catalogue is frequently ranked as the #1 most popular app on iTunes –  – in the new “Catalogs” category. With approximately 1 million downloads, Catalogue is also the most downloaded catalog app, and the only catalog shopping app available on Kindle Fire.

Unlike traditional catalogs, Catalogue consumers can pull together their own personal favorites from various brands into one location, check local store availability, take a peek at the retailers sale emails and, “using Camera View”, can even see how an item would look in their own home.
