Did you know March is National Nutrition Month?

What better way to celebrate than to learn about some fantastic resources that can help you and your family incorporate more fresh and delicious produce into your daily diet while simultaneously expanding your family’s nutrition know-how?

Produce for Kids helps demonstrate the benefits of consuming fresh produce by providing healthful meal solutions, videos, podcasts and much, much more. Their Ideal Meals section is perfect to get quick easy and healthy meals for your family.

The site even hosts an advisory board made up of parents with a wide range of expertise who can provide additional tools and resources on how you can easily incorporate fruits and veggies into your family’s daily routine.

Smash Your Food, brought to you by the great people at Food N’ Me, is a fantastic way to teach kids about healthy, nutritious foods in a visually stimulating and exciting way while making an ooey, gooey mess…virtually of course!

Kids squash burgers, cola, French Fries and more – including “Crazy Foods” for an even messier experience (eeeewwww!) — and in the process, find out how much sugar, salt and oil is just enough to help them stay healthy. Smash Your Food uses HD video and real sound effects – squish, glop, fizz, pop! — to keep kids laughing while learning.

“Eat what you wish, but you are what you squish!”

It was also one of the top winners in the Apps for Healthy Kids contest, part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Campaign designed to target childhood obesity and encourage better nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Smash Your Food will be launching an iPad app March 20th!

For now, you can check out the web version here: http://www.foodnme.com/smash-your-food

PostHeaderIcon GoGo squeeZ……Applesauce To Go

“GoGo” is really an idea and a way of looking at the world. People tend to over complicate things when the truth is a simple fact right in front of them. “GoGo” is the simple unstructured and active play that is pure goodness for kids (and the kid in all of us). “GoGo” is about having the imagination to create delight in any situation.

At GoGo squeeZ, their mission is to make it easier for kids & families to be a little healthier and happier. They work in the magical space where kids are happy and parents are affirmed. GoGo kids ask for healthier snacks and love to play outside. GoGo moms get to say YES! more often. Our purpose is to spread more “GoGo” love. They invite you to join them. They invite you to play. The more the merrier.

PostHeaderIcon It was something completely different

It is 2:30 pm on a chilly Friday afternoon and Spencer (4) decides that he wants to take a bath…. I am sitting on the edge of the tub playing with his toys with him…. I get up and walk across the hall to grab his towel when our conversation starts. I knew it wasn’t what I thought I heard, but, I still had to get to the bottom of what on earth he was talking about.

Spencer: Mom guess what?

Me: What?

Spencer: I’m high!

Me: You’re what?

Spencer: I’m high!

Me: *pause* Why are you high?

Spencer: Because I’m on something.

Me: *longer pause* What are you on?

Spencer: It’s a secret.

Me: Where did you hear that?

Spencer: I made it up.

Me: Okay *pause* Mommy needs to know what is making you high

Spencer: *silly giggle*

Me: *patient smirk*

Spencer: I’m sitting on my toy HAHAHA! I fooled you. You didn’t know what I was on!

Me: You are so silly.

He was clearly HIGH and ON something.
