PostHeaderIcon Back to School with Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Del Monte, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #DelMonteBTS  http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Has anyone seen the summer? I am not sure where it went but I wasn’t quite done with it. For some reason, this summer seemed to just whiz on by. We didn’t get to do half of the things that we wanted to do it seems. I am happy to say that Spencer can now ride a bike without training wheels. I think that was the highlight of his summer. He picked in up in less than 10 minutes. I was so proud of him and so was his big brother.

The boys start school on August 27th. They are starting a new school this year so there was so much to do, yet to get done and unknowns. I guess all parents have the same fears about things like that. Will they like the kids? Will they like the teachers? Will they make new friends easily? What will the lunches be like?

PostHeaderIcon Review: New Oscar Mayer Lunchables Lunch Combinations

Oscar-Mayer-Lunchable-1 Oscar-Mayer-Lunchable-2

Now that school is back in session, I am once again faced with the task of coming up with great new but healthy lunches that the my son will like. Royal (7) is an extremely picky eater. He would take peanut butter and jelly every day if I would let him.

I was never big on things like Lunchables. The meat just looks unappetizing to me and neither of my boys will eat it. Oscar Mayer has finally come out with a Lunchable that even I would eat. I am just as picky of an eater as my son is. Can’t imagine where he gets it from :)

The Lunchables team is introducing a new line of Oscar Mayer Lunchables Lunch Combinations, which includes spring water and a number of firsts for the brand, including sub sandwiches and applesauce.

The six new varieties include: Turkey + Cheddar Sub Sandwich, Ham + American Sub Sandwich, Turkey + Cheddar Cracker Combos, Ham +American Cracker Combos, Deep Dish Cheese Pizza and Deep Dish Pepperoni Pizza.  Both the Turkey + Cheddar Sub Sandwich and Deep Dish Cheese Pizza meet the Kraft Foods Sensible Solution criteria for nutritional value.

The product line also offers the following enhancements:

  • First-ever sub sandwich
  • Turkey made with 100% turkey breast: a good source of protein
  • Bread made with whole grain
  • Kraft 2% cheddar: an excellent source of calcium
  • Applesauce
  • Dessert like Chewy Chips Ahoy! Cookies and Mini Nilla Wafers

I picked up 2 of the ham and Cheese Sub packs because quite honestly, I was interested in trying these myself. Royal loved it and I thought it was quite good myself. They were so much better than the old Lunchables version.   However, the one thing I thought was not very well thought out about these is the Kool-Aid Singles packet. The packet states that it is for a 16 oz bottle of water but the bottle of water they supply is only 8 ounces. It was so “flavorful” I couldn’t even drink it. My son of course thought it was great. I am not sure if this was perhaps on over site or what but it makes no sense to me.

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central on behalf of Oscar Mayer Lunchables and received a sample to facilitate my candid review. In addition, Mom Central has promised to send me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
