I have never been much of a drinker. Mainly because I can’t stomach the smell or taste of alcohol. On the rare occasion that I actually have a drink, it is usually something that doesn’t taste like alcohol. I have seen mikes hard lemonade on the shelves many time. Like most every beverage I have tried, I can taste and not stomach the alcohol. I often look for ways to unwind after a long Mom day. Many have a glass of wine but I think a mike’s hard lemonade has become a nice way to unwind and have a #MyMikesMoment!

Mike’s Hard Lemonade Co., best recognized for its iconic mike’s® hard lemonade, is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary! They are also offering a limited edition pink lemonade seasonal flavor that’s on shelves now. I was actually pretty impressed with this. It tasted just like lemonade! That is possibly because mike’s uses real lemons – the whole lemon, including both the juice and the zest, to flavor its beverages resulting in the crispest, most refreshing taste around. If you are a baker.cook like me, you know how valuable the zest is.

Their pink lemonade starts out with a crisp, bright citrus notes and finishes tart and refreshing. Since 2009, mike’s hard lemonade has released its seasonal pink lemonade flavor each year in support of breast cancer awareness and has contributed more than $1 million to breast cancer research.

When you “drink pink,” you not only have a moment to savor for yourself, but you’ll be supporting a greater cause by helping to raise awareness for breast cancer. Send in your #MyMikesMoment, to your favorite social media outlet, and show your support. My Mikes Moment would definitely be relaxing on the front porch at night after all the kids are in bed. It doesn’t matter if it’s 10 outside, I have my trusty blanket all wrapped around me.

The Single Moms Club - DelightfulChaos.com
I think a lot of people don’t realize how hard it is to be a single parent. Every day is a struggle one way or another. Unless you are a single parent, you can’t really understand it entirely. For many of us, there are no breaks. Yes, you may send your children for a visit with the other parent but, what are you doing while they are gone? Cleaning, laundry, catching up on everything you didn’t or couldn’t do during the week. Life doesn’t stop when you are sick, tired or just plain worn out. Didn’t sleep the night before? Too bad, alarm for school goes off at 6:30 am so get your butt up! Suffering from a killer migraine? Too bad, kids need clean clothes. It’s amazing the things I have learned to function with over the past 4 years.

PostHeaderIcon Baby Etiquette and Preventing RSV in Infants

Life as a new parent is so exciting and joyous. Most of the time, as new parents, we can not wait introduce our new bundle of joy to all of our friends and family. I have seen parents who will just hand their newborn over to everyone and then there are those who make sure everyone has washed their hands before touching their newest addition. Sometimes exposure to loved ones also means exposure to germs. Young infants are very susceptible to infection in the early weeks of their lives, so contracting something as small as the common cold can present danger. This is especially true for babies born early, because they have underdeveloped lungs and immature immune systems.

One of the biggest threats a newborn faces is a very common virus called respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV. This virus is of special concern because it’s extremely common and spreads very easily. RSV can live on surfaces, such as doorknobs, countertops, toys and bedding for several hours and is often spread through touching, hugging and kissing. Because of this, almost 100% of children contract RSV by their second birthday. In most older children, RSV runs its course with mild symptoms similar to the cold or flu, and most  parents don’t even know their child has the virus. But in very young babies, especially preemies and those with certain lung and heart diseases, it can lead to a serious respiratory infection.

PostHeaderIcon Who Is Simon Miller?

There is a new movie coming to NBC. The premiere of Who Is Simon Miller? is on Saturday, August 6 on NBC at 8pm ET/7pm CT.

When unassuming geologist Simon Miller (Loren Dean) mysteriously disappears one night, the Miller family is thrown into a desperate search to find him. Simon’s wife Meredith (Robyn Lively) and their two kids, Sarah, 18, and Kevin, 15, frantically search Simon’s office for information. When they find a stash of passports, all with Simon’s picture but each with a different alias, they realize that their father has been keeping more than a few secrets. Who is Simon Miller? And what has he gotten himself – and now his family – into? Not sure they can even trust the dad they thought they knew, the Millers embark on an international mission to get him back. It’s a heart- pounding adventure that tests the limits to which families will fight for each other.”

This is a spy thriller and I love these types of movies. I am not usually a made for TV type of movie person but when I was asked to view this I gave it a shot because of the type. The boys are big fans of Spy Kids and this had many similarities. I recommend sitting down and watching this movie on the 6th. I promise you won’t be worry :) We love having Family Movie Night. You can also follow Family Movie Night on Facebook.

Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of P&G and received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
