PostHeaderIcon Notice to all NON-Pet Owners

Cooper

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS who visit our homes and complain about our pets.

1. They live here, you don’t.

2. If you don’t want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. This is why it is called ‘fur’niture.

3. I love my pets more than I do most people.

4. To you they are animals, but to me they are my babies who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don’t talk back!

PostHeaderIcon Crossing the Rainbow Bridge

While looking at my feed on Facebook this morning, I came across an update from my friend Jennifer. She wrote ” Thank you to everyone for their prayers for my Kane. He passed away this morning at 8:30 am in my Dad’s arms. He is now running free at the Rainbow Bridge and eating all the biscuits he wants!” This literally brought tears to my eyes.

I am a huge animal lover and this just broke my heart. It made me remember by baby girl, Crystal, and my dad’s pride and joy, Sasha.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor, those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.

The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly it begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, strong legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands caress the beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

The versatile nature of the holders provides a unique décor accent to your home – definitely a conversation piece. They are constructed from ¼ inch steel and painted flat black. Mounting screws are included with each holder.

These things are REALLY COOL! I received one with baby girls name on it, Autumn. It is such nice quality and very well done. I hung ours as soon as you walk in the entry way. I was complaining to Royal that the entry was so white and BLAH. The way the walls are you really can’t hang to much. This fit nicely above where we keep our shoe mat. Autumn has leashes and collars like the boys have shoes! I was very grateful for this because now I can actually find one of her 5 leashes when we travel.

If you are like me and buy gifts for the pets on Christmas, this is a great option. They run anywhere from $54 CAN to $75 CAN but for the Holidays they are all $10 off and you can also get free shipping! Since they are a Canada based company, all orders must be received tomorrow to guarantee you will receive it in time for Christmas.

PostHeaderIcon Kroger Personal Finance Adds Accident Coverage for your Pet

A dog is one thing that I have always had since I moved away from home. I of course missed my family so having a four legged friend helped out. My pets are like my children. I know that a lot of people do not feel that way, which saddens me, but I would do the same for Autumn as I would if one of my boys got sick. Many years ago I looked into Pet Health Insurance. All I have to say is OUCH on the price. Almost as expensive as human insurance! Needless to say I never bought it.

To most of the nation’s 70 million pet owners, pets are family too. And when pets get sick or injured, most of us are willing to spend almost whatever it takes to get them back on all four feet.  But the price of veterinary care does not come cheap, as a matter of fact, according to the American Pet Products Association (APPA) vet bills last year in the U.S. topped $11 billion!

There are times when things happen that are beyond our control. One of the kids leave the gate open, you have a dog who is a digger or just that pesky little one that you love so much but ALWAYS finds a way out. Wouldn’t you like to know you could get affordable help if god forbid something happened to them?

To control costs, more pet owners than ever are signing up for pet health insurance plans.  Pet insurance industry experts say the offering has become so popular they expect pet premiums to top $328 million by year’s end.

Kroger Personal Finance® (KPF), a Kroger joint venture that brings together a wide array of quality financial products and services from preferred providers for Kroger customers, is making pet health insurance information available in the check lanes of more than 2,400 supermarkets operated by Kroger, the nation’s largest traditional grocery store operator.

“Kroger shoppers include pet owners and non-pet owners alike,” Kathy Kelly, president of Kroger Personal Finance said.  “With 62 percent of U.S. households owning a pet – and 70 percent of those with multiple pets, affordable pet insurance can help pet owners manage their expenses.  It can cover everything from routine costs associated with veterinary expenses like annual check-ups and vaccinations all the way to surgeries, x-rays and hospitalization.”

The newest product offered by KPF is its lowest priced – an “accident only” policy for $9.95 per month per pet.

Today, pet health insurance can cover accidents and illnesses, as well as routine care for dogs and/or cats.  Depending on the coverage level and the number of pets insured, prices can range from $9.95 to $79.00 per month.  The range of service covered by the premiums, as Kelly describes it, is nearly as broad as procedures covered by human insurance.

To pet owners, the appeal of insurance comes down to peace of mind, and hopefully not having to explore the limits of unconditional love.

“By paying monthly premiums there is no need to worry about suddenly struggling to come up with unbudgeted veterinary expenses down the road,” Kelly added.  “It allows pets to receive expert care and helps their human families manage costs, now for less than 40¢ a day.”
