PostHeaderIcon GUND Huggable Plush Designs + Giveaway

Royal will be 10 in just a few months and he has a teddy bear who’s name is Sam. He received this as a gift when he was just 3 years old from his great-grandmother. He is very serious when it comes to Sam. For many years he would not sleep anywhere without him. Sam has made MANY trips back to Pennsylvania with us to visit my family. I can’t tell you how many times I have fixes Sam and surprisingly, he still is in great condition but he stays in the bedroom now. No more traveling for Sam. I am thrilled about this because it means no more incidents of poor Sam potentially getting left behind.

Spencer, my “baby”, who is turning 5 tomorrow, has Freddy Teddy. When he was born myself, my Mom and Royal were walking around a national clothing store when he spotted Freddy Teddy. He asked if he could buy it for Spencer, so we did. Freddy Teddy is still with us today kicking it every night with Sam.

PostHeaderIcon Hot Wheels Nitro Speeders (Giveaway)

When it comes to Hot Wheels, we own a few…. Okay probably over 100 but that’s not many, right? The kids are always filling their pockets and my purse with cars to take when we go out. They are a tad heavy after they add 5 or so. Wouldn’t be it cool if they were smaller, lighter and…. let’s add remote controlled to that! Are you searching for that perfect pocket-size toy to keep your children entertained while on the run?

It can be hard to find small and entertaining toys to take along on family vacations or a day of errands and that’s why I’m excited to tell you about this fun new toy I was just introduced to for the (little) big guys in your life!

Hot Wheels’ newest generation of micro RC vehicle, Nitro Speeders, helps fuel thrilling vehicle experiences on the go:

  • Measuring fewer than two inches in length and less than one-half inch wide, Nitro Speeders is THE portable toy for your boy on the go
  • Nitro Speeders fly around corners at a scaled 600 mph, making it one of the fastest small RC cars on the market today
  • Nitro Speeders are operated by a pocket sized remote control that doubles as a charger and handy carrying case so it’s always ready when you’re on the move
  • For added fun, they work with all standard Hot Wheels track sets – including ones with loops

The boys had an interesting time playing with this car. While I personally wasn’t very thrilled with it, they had a great time playing with it!

My Opinion: I like that the charger doubles as a carrying case and it was really super fast. While it was actually running, it kept the kids pretty occupied. Except when I had to retrieve it from under the fridge. Twice…. This tiny 2 inch car took a whopping 4 AA batteries to work.  They kids couldn’t use it right away because it had to be charged (despite the fact that batteries weren’t sent to us with the item, I didn’t have any on hand so the boys had to wait until the next day to use it anyway). The connector is so tiny it almost broke off a few times and it took about 30 minutes to charge this for maybe 10 minutes of play .

Spencer’s Opinion: (Age 4) “It does tricks! When it goes backwards it landed on it’s wheels. Royal can do a cyclone with the car. I can’t remember what else it does. Umm Oh it’s really really fast and so small!”

Royal’s Opinion: (9) “Did you see how it spins around? That was cool! I like that it goes so fast but it is kind of hard to steer it too. I didn’t like that it went under the refrigerator twice. Mom put a towel in front of it so we didn’t lose it again. I wish it didn’t take so long to recharge it.”

We all had mixed feelings on the Nitro Speeder. If you would like to check it out and tell me what you think, enter my giveaway below for a chance to win one!

PostHeaderIcon Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway Crane and Cargo Set (Giveaway)

Since sometime in 2004, around Royal’s second birthday, the Thomas the Train epidemic started in our house. When he was 5, Spencer came along so there was never much of a break from it. I can name just about EVERY train there is in this collection. I know, it’s sad right? Tons of trains and I can stand in Target, stare at the display and go, “Nope, sorry baby, you have them all.” Sometimes I get looks from other parents, sometimes the laugh because they know how it is. We have Die-Cast, Plastic, Wood, Battery operated, Brown track, grey track, wood track blur track AHHHHHH! Oh, don’t forget the table of course. For Royal’s third birthday, we bought him a custom made Thomas the Train costume off Ebay for well, way more than any sane parents would pay but he loved it! That same year we spent a ridiculous amount on a Thomas the Train cake as well. You always do foolish things with your money for your first born… Right? :) (Sadly I couldn’t find any pics of the cake or costume on my laptop :()

We recently received the Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway Crane and Cargo Figure 8 Set. Royal (now 9) still plays with Spencer (4) but he wasn’t as excited about this package. Spencer on the other hand was! This is a cute track to take along places. You have the hills, bridge, tunnels and even a crane. This set has a lot for its size.

  • Perfect introduction to cargo play for little engineers everywhere

  • Features 2 levels of play: cargo play and elevation play

PostHeaderIcon Hasbro’s New Disney/Pixar’s “Cars 2” Games (Giveaway)

As the flowers bloom and we start to see Summer is now here. Even thought it is hot out and we think of swimming and playing, there are still those rainy days. Yesterday we had a hail storm! Take a special sneak peek at the new line of “Cars 2” games – just in time for the release of Disney/Pixar’s “Cars 2” on June 24! Lightning McQueen, Mater and the gang are back and starring in your favorite family games of Operation, Sorry! Sliders, Monopoly and more.

In Operation: Cars 2 Edition, Mater is carrying some extra junk and his engine is starting to clunk! Put on your mechanic hat and help fix his busted grill and gear in Operation: Cars 2 Edition. Help your Mater “patient” get “all better!” Pick a card and then “operate” on that part of him to help him out. Remove the bad parts and you’ve done it! But if you touch the sides, his headlight will buzz and glow. Keep working on him until his as “healthy” as can be, then put the funatomy parts in the storage drawer to keep everything together. “Fix up” his “busted gear” and you win! Includes gameboard with Mater “Patient” and tweezers, 22 game cards, 11 plastic funatomy parts, play money, storage drawer and instructions. Requires 4 “AAA” batteries (not included). Adult assembly required. For 1 or more players. Ages 6 and up.

Bump and race your way to victory in the “Cars 2” World Grand Prix! Bring the racing experience of the movie to life with Sorry! Sliders: Cars 2 Edition, the game of sweet revenge. Rev through Radiator Springs, tear through Toyko, power through Porta Corsa and let’r rip through London. Race around to collect tokens and try to be the first back. But watch out! Oil slicks, traffic cones and radiation zones make it a bumpy ride to victory. Put yourself into top gear and get moving! Includes track pieces, barriers, 4 Cars 2 racers, assorted obstacles, lap counter tokens, Mater token, sticker sheet and game guide. Adult assembly required. For 2 to 4 players. Ages 6 and up.

Finally, everyone’s favorite property-trading game, Monopoly, gets a tune up – “Cars 2”style! Monopoly: Cars 2 Edition is totally new and unlike any Monopoly game seen before! Not For Children Under 3 Years.Race to “real estate” victory with characters from the Cars 2 movie! Buy and trade cars in this fast-paced game to try to earn the most money. Speed your way around the board, build up monopolies and—if you’re the richest player at the end of the game—win! Includes 1 racetrack (in 4 pieces), 1 Lightning McQueen racecar, 1 gameboard, 16 Cars cards, 16 tires, 8 Pitties, 4 character movers, 16 Chance chards, money pack and instructions. For 2 to 4 players. Ages 5 and up.

Are you and your family heading out of town for the long weekend? As we all know, entertainment on the go is an essential part of trip planning! Before closing the trunk or zipping up the carry-on bag, make sure to include a few family-friendly games for fun in transit or for once you reach your final vacation destination. In addition to your electronic devices, bring games that will never run out of battery power – toss Fun on the Run games in the glove compartment for down time in the car, throw Ratuki in the beach bag for a spontaneous, mid-afternoon game-play session, and pack classic games like Sorry! and The Game of Life to unwind around the kitchen table after a long day.

We had the chance to review the Cars 2 Sorry Sliders game. While the boys had a fantastic time playing it, my only complaint was that the board kept coming apart. It was a real pain in the butt. If they could find away to make the board pieces stay together better, it would be awesome.
